Do Your Research

There is nothing wrong with researching builders before you visit our model homes. This will allow you to weed out builders that don’t fit your budget or offer floor plans that won’t meet your needs. Most builder websites explain the construction process, offer customer testimonials and can even help you with financing.

A Realtor Can Help

Many Realtors specialize in new-build homes. They usually are experts on the builders in any given community and can point you in the direction of the ones that offer the best fit in floor plans, pricing and options

Take a Virtual Tour

Technology is a wonderful thing. Many builders now offer virtual tours of their model homes, offering opportunities to see them before you visit Lago Mar. Not sure you like the floor plan used for the model? Builders offer multiple floor plans and some of them may have been used in another community, so you can tour that model to get see a 3-D version of the floor plan you are interested in. Many builders also post tours or pictures of inventory homes on their websites.

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask Questions

Builders’ sales representatives are there to answer questions, so don’t be afraid to ask. They can tell you how long a builder has been constructing homes, what features in the model are standard and which are upgrades, what type of warranties are offered and more.

Talk to Other Customers

One of the best ways to find out about the builders you are considering is to talk to former customers. There is nothing wrong with driving through the community you are interested in and seeing if a resident or two will answer questions about their homes. Ask them if they feel their builder listened to them, if they noticed any issues after they moved in and, if so, how quickly those issues were resolved.
