Tickets On Sale for Lagoonfest Texas
Tickets are now on sale for Lagoonfest Texas, opening with $2.2 million in upgrades May 28 at Lago Mar’s Crystal Lagoons® amenity, 3240 Lago Mar Blvd.
The event will be open 10 a.m. to sunset Tuesdays through Sundays through Sept. 6, with expanded evening hours some days.
“Lagoonfest Texas offers something for every type of vacationer,” said Uri Man, Chief Executive Officer of The Lagoon Development Company. “Whether you want to relax under a luxury cabana or keep active kayaking or testing your agility on our massive floating obstacle course, you can do it.”
The venue opened last year as Summer Lagoonfest but has been rebranded to Lagoonfest Texas after the addition of more amenities and activities. The most significant addition is an entry plaza comprising 10 shipping containers outfitted to be a restaurant, bars, entertainment stage and rooftop party decks.
“These structures are beautifully designed — you’d never know them as shipping containers,” Man said.
The beaches along the lagoon also have been considerably deepened, offering about triple the amount of beach area.
“We anticipate even more people this year than last year, so the increased beach area will allow for social distancing, if wanted,” Man said.
Visitors will also have a greater selection of luxury cabanas, couches and other seating arrangements from which to choose.
More kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and sailboats also will be available, as will the floating obstacle course that was popular last year. Added to the activities will be a 185-foot, five-story waterslide, a catapult swing and an electric ferry that will transport people to a VIP luxury beach experience.
“We’ve also added more bars, including what will be the longest swim-up bar in Houston,” Man said. “Our food service capability is also expanded.”
While water play at the lagoon ends at sunset, visitors will be able to stay into the evening on certain days to enjoy live music. Man said currently 10 performances have been scheduled.
Admission for Lagoonfest will start at $15 for children under age 13 and $20 for those age 13 and older. Prices are subject to change and will vary based on day of week and demand. Children age 2 and under get in for free.
COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced, including no cash transactions, frequent cleaning and enhanced sanitation of high-traffic areas and the requirement of masks for entry, exit and in all common areas.
